On Wednesday evening, the spotlight was once again shone on the NRL wives and girlfriends at the Dally M Awards who both stunned and shocked in eye-popping gowns.
While some turned heads for all the wrong reasons, most attendees dazzled in striking numbers and both plunging necklines and daring thigh-high splits were a recurring theme of the night.
FEMAIL takes a look at the best dressed and worst dressed WAGS from the football night of nights – from Tegan Martin’s bizarre lilac gown to Kayla Boyd’s whimsical white number.
Off to prom? Tegan Martin took a risk in this lilac retro-style gown reminiscent of the taffeta prom looks from the 80s and struggled to protect her modesty as she made her way down the breezy carpet
Oozing confidence: Despite her unusual choice of gown, Tegan still managed to wow onlookers as she stepped onto the carpet
Tegan Martin took a sartorial risk in a crumpled lilac retro-style frock – her slim frame swamped in the overwhelming satin number which skimmed her thighs at the front and billowed out disproportionately at the back.
The former Miss Universe Australia also opted for an unusually bold lip colour which failed to match the pale purple material which sat off the shoulder and barely covered her modesty at the front.
Wearing her signature blonde dresses loose around her shoulders, Tegan flaunted her slim pins as the breezy weather picked up the fabric and she struggled to keep herself hidden.
Dressed in white! Journalist Julie Snook donned a white satin full-length gown with floral embellished sleeves – while Simone Ennis stepped out in a busy patterned number which had a sheer neckline
Barely there: Billy Slater’s beau Nicole showed off her enviable curves in her form-fitting emerald number, however the very low cut neckline required some adjustment as she sashayed down the carpet
Glitzy: Fox Sports Presenters Hannah Hollis and Lara Pitt turned heads in their shimmery numbers – but while Lara played it safe with her get-up, Hannah’s unusually cut neckline turned heads for all the wrong reasons
And Nine News presenter Julie Snook boldly opted for a white with a long-sleeved creation which was emblazoned with an unusual pattern on the arms.
Her floor-length number was slightly cinched at the waist but did little for her svelte figure, leaving the television star looking frumpy. But all eyes were on her surprising clutch choice which she held at the front of her dress, leaving the burgundy curtain-like tassels to take attention away from the rest of the outfit.
WAG Simone Ennis arrived in a similarly unflattering design with a very busy pattern which was all the more eye-catching because of the long sleeves.
Nicole Slater made a statement in a figure-hugging emerald design which wowed from the back but had a curiously shaped neckline which took away from the stunning look.
New mum Phoebe Burgess turned heads with both a low-cut neck line and a racy thigh-high split, pairing the striking choice with dark green pumps
Rose among the thorns: Emma Freedman arrived in a slinky custom satin dress by Lillian Khallouf- her hair scraped up in a simple yet elegant up-do
And Phoebe Burgess wowed with a risky leather-look gown and channeled her inner Maleficent as she took to the red carpet.
The new mum turned heads with both a low-cut neck line and a racy thigh-high split, pairing the striking choice with dark green pumps.
Fox Sports presenter Hannah Hollis made a bold choice with a dark shimmery creation – but it was her unusually cut neckline which stole attention from the figure-hugging dress. Opting for a similar look was fellow journalist Lara Pitt who arrived in a glittery metallic-style frock plunging at the neckline with a daring side split.
Steering away from the theme of fearless necklines was Fox presenter Yvonne Sampson who played it safe in an geometrically shaped orange and black gown with a high neck and figure-hugging skirt.
Radio presenter Emma Freedman paid tribute to the September weather with a floral-patterned floor length gown stamped with bold bright red roses – as the blonde beauty wore her locks scraped back into a plain bun as she let her form-fitting dress make a statement instead.
Whimsical in white: Former Miss World Erin Holland channelled a bridal vibe – the 28-year-old positively glowing as she showed off her curves in the custom Pallas Couture creation
Carley Widdop wore a stunning bridal-style dress with a statement netted train which beautifully fanned out at her feet
Wonderous in white: Kayla Boyd and Chelsea Waerea-Hargreaves stunned in form-fitting white gowns as they posed with their dapper beaus on the carpet
Erin wore her dyed brunette tresses parted in the middle and scraped at the nape of her neck as her dress stole the show with a thigh-high split and billowing sleeves – finishing off the look with a pair of neutral nude heels.
It was no surprise former beauty queen Erin Holland looked astonishing in a backless bridal-themed frock with very daring neckline plunging down to her trim stomach.
She kept it simple, choosing not to wear any jewellry as she let the intricately-patterned lace gown speak for itself.
And Carely Widdop looked whimsical in white as she followed in Erin’s footsteps with a backless white frock which captured attention with an enormous netted train.
Alex McKinnon’s partner Teigan Power opted for a unique metallic frock which was open at the front, while leaving her hair simple and scraped back into a ponytail
Burgeoning burgundy: Pregnant Grace Adler cradled her blooming baby bump in a dark maroon number
Blooming in blue! Ann Gallen stunned in a dark blue lace number with a daring thigh-high split and beautifully embroidered sleeves
