Better Home and Gardens star Charlie Albone drops price on his country retreat complete with stables by over half a million in bid to sell

Charlie Albone has dropped the price on his country retreat after initially asking for $3million. 

The 43-year-old Better Homes and Garden star first put his gorgeous home on the New South Wales Central Coast up for sale in February. 

But it’s failed to sell, with thee price guide of $3million-$3.2million dropping to $2.45millin to $2.65million, realstate.com.au reports. 

The sprawling four-bedroom, three-bathroom property is located in Ourimbah on 2.07hectares. 

The main feature of the rural retreat is a beautiful ‘Engish’ style cottage, surrounded by superbly maintained sculptured gardens.

Charlie purchased the property with his wife Juliet Love in 2012 for $840,000, reports The Daily Telegraph.

Other highlights include a separate ‘unit’ which boasts its own kitchen and bedroom.

There’s also a delightful secluded backyard entertainment deck, which is hidden under a vine-covered alcove, and a saltwater pool.

The listing indicates the median house prices in Ourimbah, which is 12km from Gosford, now sit at $800,00, 

In 2020, Charlie and his interior designer wife snapped up a fixer-upper in Maroubra for $2.355million.

The serial renovators later modernised the house, just as they had done for the Ourimbah acreage retreat which is now up for grabs.

The purchase followed Charlie’s decision to quit Foxtel’s Selling Houses Australia in 2019 to join the Better Homes and Gardens team, replacing Jason Hodges. 

Jason was brutally cut from Channel Seven lifestyle show after 16 years.

But Charlie was thrilled to get the position. 

He fans on Instagram in February: ‘Excitement overload! For those that don’t know yet I will be joining the amazing team at Better Homes and Gardens.’
