A big baby has broken records in Queensland when it was born weighing almost twice the size of an average new born.
The whopping 6.3kg baby became the biggest bundle born at the Sunshine Hospital, leaving the mother-of-four Teu Ala relieved her son, Maoama, is healthy.
‘I was crying, I was happy … the main thing is not his size, but he was coming out healthy and happy,’ Ms Ala told 9 News.

The Samoan mother had a caesarean section and delivered her big bub a week early as doctors were worried about the huge size, SBS News reported.
‘We were all a little bit shocked and surprised by it,’ Obstetrician Lauren De Luca told reporters.
‘This is off the charts.’
The surprised mother was expecting her son to be born weighing about 10 pounds, according to Ten Eyewitness News.
Joining nine-year-old twins and a six-year-old who weighed up to 4.5kg when born, Maoama was named after his father.
