Big Brother Australia star turned real estate mogul Krystal Hipwell adds Byron Bay luxury pad to her $25million property portfolio

Former Big Brother star Krystal Hipwell and her property developer husband Neil have updated fans on their latest project in Byron Bay.

The couple, who have a property portfolio worth an estimated $25million, took to Instagram earlier this month to show off progress on the construction of two mansions they are building on the prestigious coastal getaway location.

Video taken from the building site shows the massive scale of one dwelling which will feature skylights in both the kitchen and dining areas.

Yahoo reports that the pair splashed out a whopping $4.75million early this year to buy a 1960s era four-bedroom house on the site.

They then demolished the run down family home to begin construction on the 1012 square metre plot of land.

According to the couple’s Instagram the property will be known as ‘Bunker House’ and will function as a ‘vacation home rental’ once building is completed in 2024.

Design highlights on one of the multi-storey property’s featured on the couple’s Instagram include a U.S. Hampton’s style facade, wrap-around balcony and a pool.

Currently Krystal, Neil and their children  – son Sunny, eight, daughter Nakoda, four, and three-year-old son Huska – are living on the Byron Bay construction in a small cabin.

The Byron Bay project follows the pair’s two earlier developments.

In 2021 they launched ‘Bunker House’ in Gerrigong, on the New South Wales south coast.

The multi-storey mansion, which they originally built as their dream home, after buying the land for $1.7million, is now a luxury rental which can accommodate 16.

Krystal and Neil also have another resort style accomodation located just outside the Perisher Valley ski village at Crackenback in the NSW Alps.

Built by the couple in 2021, and dubbed ‘Jimmy Doo’, it opened last year and can accomodate 22 adults and 8 children.

Rising to fame on Big Brother Australia in 2006 Krystal Hipwell (nee Forscutt) became an influencer, only to dump her high profile career to join husband Neil as a property developer.

The former model now manages projects through Neil’s successful property design and construction company, Futureflip.
