A former Big Brother contestant with links to bikies almost died after he and his girlfriend woke to a huge fire in their bedroom.
On Christmas Day, Heath Tournier’s girlfriend’s black Mercedes Benz was destroyed in a blaze which spread to his coastal home, causing $350,000 worth of damage.
Mr Tournier told Daily Mail Australia he managed to escape his Torquay home with his 18-month-old daughter just in time.
‘We almost died … I woke up to six foot flames in the house,’ he said.

The former Big Brother contestant said he was told the fire was started by sparklers in milk bottles.
Mr Tournier, who has connections with the likes of football star Dustin Martin, told Daily Mail Australia he had no idea if it was a targeted attack.
‘I don’t know … I haven’t p***ed anyone off or anything, it’s pretty serious,’ he said.
‘It’s shocking, we lost everything, everything got burnt, we lost presents, lost everything.
‘The house will have to be pulled down.’
The charity builder, who is believed to have connections with bikie members, shared a photo of a Gilbert Street property online in October saying there were ‘exciting times ahead’.
‘I hope they catch whoever did it,’ Mr Tournier told Daily Mail Australia.

The builder was found guilty of assault after a fight at Torquay Hotel in 2009 and was fined $4500.
Almost ten years later, the charity builder works with sick children across Geelong, Victoria.
Victoria Police told Daily Mail Australia they were investigating the ‘exact circumstances surrounding the blaze’.
