Big W customer rips down security scanners in heated outburst caught on video

An irate Big W customer has been filmed tearing apart a store’s security scanners in a furious outburst.

The man, who was wearing a grey tracksuit, was seen screaming at the front of the store before he started repeatedly kicking the scanners.

He then broke one in half with this hands, throwing it to the ground, and then did the same to a second.

‘Don’t you dare! Don’t you dare!’ he was heard shouting. 

The man then calmly picked up a piece of paper and strutted off back inside the department store. 

Fellow shoppers had watched on but were seemingly too concerned to intervene, while a man in a high-vis vest stood back and let the outburst unfold.

It’s unclear what store in Australia the incident was filmed at, but the video was shared to Twitter on Tuesday.

Several social media users made light of the situation. 

‘Having asserted his authority, the shopping warrior minced away to complete his mission of procurement,’ one wrote.

Another added: ‘Looks like a normal shopping day in retail.’
