Bill Belichick reveals hilarious social media blunder after 72-year-old finally joined ‘Instaface’

Bill Belichick is considered a football mastermind, but he apparently doesn’t have the same sort of expertise on social media.

The 72-year-old former Patriots coach joined Instagram last month, and spoke on the Pat McAfee Show about a hilarious blunder he made while using the app.

After promoting his ‘Instaface’ account to McAfee’s viewers, Belichick admitted that he recently found himself stuck in a ‘chat room’ on the app accidentally.

‘It was rough. I was just scrolling through, I have no idea what I’m doing, and I end up in a chat room – and couldn’t get out,’ he said.

Belichick went on to say that he asked someone named Kobe for help on how to get out of the group before ultimately exiting.

The legendary coach, who parted ways with the Patriots earlier this year, is new to social media as he made his first Instagram post on September 4.

He wrote, ‘During my career in the NFL, I had built-in opportunities to express myself at a moment’s notice. The circumstances are different now.

‘So, here I am. I am (surprisingly) thrilled to announce my decision to utilize social media platforms with the intention of connecting directly with the fans and the public. This debut was inconceivable a few months ago, but exciting now!!!’

Since then, Belichick has posted several times, including to wish former quarterback Tom Brady good luck on his new broadcasting gig with Fox Sports.

Belichick also posted a note honoring the 2014 Patriots Super Bowl-winning squad.

While Belichick did not land a head coaching job in the offseason, he’s kept busy with various media jobs around the NFL.

He’s appearing on CW’s Inside the NFL and also every week of ESPN’s Manningcast with Peyton and Eli Manning.

He has also launched the ‘Coach’ podcast with Matt Patricia and Michael Lombardi.
