Billionaire Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli abandons plans to build Melbourne mansion and offloads land for $2.7million after neighbours refused to sell their home to him

Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli has scrapped plans to build his latest multi-million dollar property in Melbourne.

The billionaire is selling his Strathmore residential block with a $2.5million to $2.7million price listing.

Portelli first purchased the land early in 2023 for $2.7million, with plans to build himself a home with city skyline views.

However, his hopes to buy surrounding blocks to expand his space fell through.

‘I was wanting to potentially buy the neighbours’ houses and just create one big block,’ he told realestate.com.au.

‘So I offered them a considerable amount, more than what their house was worth, but they didn’t want to sell, which I respect.’

Portelli says he hopes to get what he paid for the land, and is on the lookout for a bigger block elsewhere.

‘If I don’t get that, then I’ll probably just put a house on it and sit on it for a bit,’ he told the website.

Portelli is known for his very lavish taste and often gives an insight into his luxury lifestyle on social media.

The Block bidder made his fortune through his giveaway business LMCT+ as well as property investing and now has an estimated net worth of a huge $1.03billion.

He has become known for his luxury collection of sports cars, while he has also purchased a string of multi-million dollar properties and other very rare items.

The successful businessman boasts luxury homes all around Australia, and he added a jaw-dropping Melbourne penthouse to his property portfolio last year.

The March 2023 sale broke a record for the city’s most expensive apartment after Adrian paid an eye-watering $39million for the pad.

He reportedly spent another $6million on modifying and customising the 1200sqm sky home – including craning in his $3m McLaren Senna GTR as an ‘art piece’.

As well as his vast car collection, Adrian also added an eye-wateringly expensive $4.3million Lamborghini yacht to his long list of lavish purchases.

Earlier this year, Adrian, who is a self-made billionaire from Melbourne’s western suburbs, soared to number 115 on Australia’s Richest 250 list.

His lottery business LCMT+ offers its members lavish prizes, including luxury homes, cars, and cash in monthly prize draws using a legal loophole.
