Billionaires, beauties and ballers gather in Italy as Google Camp kicks off on a yacht

It was a stylish crowd that was first to arrive for the start of Google Camp on Sunday.

Karlie Kloss, fresh off a modeling shoot in Beijing, touched down at the airport in Palermo before being flown to the Vedura Resort in a helicopter to meet up with fiancee Joshua Kushner.

The supermodel, who turns 26 on Friday, posted a photo to her Instagram story of the view from the resort on Sunday afternoon, giving her followers a peek at the beachfront oasis.

That photo also gave her followers a look at Barry Diller’s massive yacht Eos, which he arrived to Google Camp on alongside his wife Diane von Furstenberg and CBS This Morning host Gayle King.

There are still more guests to come, and rumors are building in the Italian press that Michael Jordan will also be joining the group this year, as he and wife Yvette were spotted vacationing over the past week with Ahmad Rashaad while also enjoying a round of golf at Verdura.

He will not be the only baller to show up in Sicily if he does attend, with Kevin Durant also expected at the event along with his girlfriend Cassandra Anderson and business partner Rich Kleiman.

On Sunday, King shared a photo of herself and von Furstenberg heading from the yacht to the resort, as well as a few glimpses of her lunch at sea.

That meal consisted of crab cakes with mango and avocado, cherry tomatoes in balsamic vinegar, a salad of haricot vests, peaches and goat cheese, grilled zucchini, fried fresh and prawns.

‘Give me a V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N what’s that spell? Means good friends, great food & moonlight on the Mediterranean… ahhhh,’ wrote King on Instagram.

Von Fürstenberg also shared a few photos, including one of herself and Nat-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet.

‘Stripes ! @nat_mass woman #InCharge,’ wrote von Furstenberg, making a reference to Massenet’s black-and-white striped wrap dress.

That dress looked to be a silk crepe de chine wrap maxi dress from von Furstenberg’s eponymous line, which Manasset sells for $550 on Net-a-Porter.

King meanwhile was seen wearing the designer’s $298 long sleeve crew-neck knit dress while von Furstenberg herself wore a pair of $248 straight-leg pajama trousers.

Manasset and King are likely staying with Diller and von Furstenberg on Eos given their choice of outfit on Sunday, while Kloss and Kushner appeared to be in on of the resort’s suites.

An army of staff are setting the stage at the resort as billionaires and celebrity guests arrive by helicopter for the top secret Google Camp.

DailyMail.com also got a look at the secure compounds housing gig equipment that surround Temple G, at nearby Selinunte Archaeological Park.

The ancient Greek ruins are being surrounded with lights, tables and decorations ahead of the big dinner that is the high-point of the event each year.

Security staff who were monitoring the workers would not confirm who will be performing this year, only revealing that there will be a ‘huge and private’ event being held on Tuesday.

A security guard told Dailymail.com: ‘I can’t tell you who’ll be performing here, but there’ll be a huge and private event on Tuesday.

‘I’m not allowed to say any more than that.’

Meanwhile, security shooed away any onlookers from Baglio San Vincenzo, a 12-room guest house with central courtyard and winery hidden among the hills and dirt tracks surrounding the neighboring town Menfi, as staff arrived to prepare for a Google Camp dinner and evening of entertainment on Monday.

Signs along the entrance track which went uphill through several miles of vineyards revealed only that the well-heeled resort would be closed tomorrow for a private event.

Helicopters ferried guests straight into the Verdura Resort while a number of yachts set anchor just offshore from the picturesque property.

The three-masted Bermuda rigged schooner Eos, which features a figurehead of von Furstenberg sculpted by Anh Duong, and measures over 300ft in length, was soon joined by Andromeda.

That is the slightly bigger 107m luxury yacht owned by Graeme Hart, the notoriously press and incredibly private New Zealand billionaire .

There is nothing quiet about his boat however, which has a helicopter landing pad and carried a smaller yacht to take guests into port.

There is even a water slide off the back of the vessel for guests looking to have some fun in the sun.

The Nita K II, a charter yacht that measures 167ft and can be renewed for the price of $250,000 per week, looked minuscule floating next to the other two vessels in the Mediterranean.

The three yachts were all closely guarded by a Med Defense vessel, with two men on board who moved any rival boats away from the secure complex’s private beach today.

A local coastguard boat also maintained a visible presence.

A source told Dailymail.com: ‘It would be nice to see just who’s on board these boats, but the authorities won’t let anyone go anywhere near.

‘They can keep their partying away from prying eyes by land and by sea. Security for this event is paramount. No expense has been spared.’
