Bills superstar QB Josh Allen gives refreshing answer when asked if he thinks he’s underpaid on $258MILLION

Bills star Josh Allen has opened up on whether he considers himself to be underpaid compared to other top quarterbacks, providing mixed reactions on social media.

On Wednesday, a clip of the 28-year-old went viral after a reporter asked him at a press conference in Buffalo: ‘What do you think of all these guys ahead of you?’

According to data provided by Sportrac, Allen ranks as the 13th signal-caller with the highest average contract value in the league ($43,005,667) behind a certain Patrick Mahomes ($45M).

Joe Burrow, Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence are locked in a three-way race for top spot on the list, as all three of them earn $55M/year on average.

‘Listen everyone’s gonna have their day. I’m happy that everyone’s getting what their worth. Right?’ Allen said at first in footage shared by WIVB on X.

‘I think that as the game progresses and guys keep getting paid… again the market is the market… And I’ve got no problem with where I’m at right now.

‘I had my day a couple years ago and I’m sure someday I’ll have it again. But, I think the main thing is the main thing and it’s playing football to the best of my ability and everything else will take care of itself.’

Allen’s answer was praised by a section of fans on X, while others begged to differ.

‘I wish people would stop asking if JA is underpaid, dude is making a quarter billion… I do love Josh’s response though,’ said someone rooting for the Bills.

‘Class act all the way, luv JA17,’ another Bills fan shared.

‘He’s being paid exactly what he’s worth. Regular season warrior,’ a Dolphins pointed out, referring to Allen’s postseason shortcomings – one AFC Championship game in six seasons in Buffalo.

‘Josh Allen will not resign in Buffalo. Mark my words!’ predicted a user on X.

Allen signed a six-year, $258M contract extension with the Bills in 2021. This fall, he will earn a base salary of roughly $8.6M.

Allen has a potential out in his deal after the 2025 NFL season, potentially giving the Bills roughly $31.5M dead cap.
