The showdown was captured by tour guide Brian Duro in coastal town Portland, south-eastern Australia.
He was showing tourists the coastline when they spotted the koala scale a cliff and wander right into the company of seabirds.
Mr Duro, 50, said: ‘He had this ‘what the hell am I doing here?’ look. I’ve never seen a koala there before, he was on an adventure.’
