Birmingham City sacked Harry Redknapp on Saturday evening shortly after suffering their fifth consecutive Championship defeat.

The club later confirmed that former midfielder Lee Carsley will step up from his position as development coach to become caretaker manager.
Championship side Birmingham City dismissed manager Harry Redknapp on Saturday evening
The decision to part company with Redknapp came after the Blues lost 3-1 at home to Preston
Redknapp was appointed on a permanent basis at St Andrews in May and was tasked with leading a promotion bid.
But the Blues currently sit 23rd in the Championship after eight rounds of fixtures, making going down look like a more realistic method of leaving the division.
Redknapp, 70, who has previously had spells in charge of West Ham, Tottenham, Portsmouth, QPR and Southampton, initially joined Birmingham on a short-term deal last season.
He oversaw three matches in April and May, taking six points as Birmingham survived the threat of relegation.
Birmingham subsequently handed Redknapp a one-year contract in May, but he lasted just 127 days and 10 games.
Carsley’s first game as manager of a senior team will come at Derby next weekend.
