BIZARRE health fitness routines of Australian models confirmed to walk in Victoria’s Secret show

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is one of the style community’s most hotly anticipated events of the year.

In advance of the embellished extravaganza, a ruthless casting process is held to select the world’s most beautiful models with suitably killer physiques to showcase the latest collection from the lingerie empire.

The first round of castings for the 2018 New York runway have just been announced, with five Australian and two New Zealand stunners making the cut.

From seasoned veterans to teenage first timers, FEMAIL looked at the rigorous and sometimes bizarre health and fitness regimes of ‘Oceania’s Seven’ which keep them in peak physical condition ahead of the internationally renowned spectacle.

SHANINA SHAIK

27-year-old Victoria’s Secret veteran Shanina Shaik is set to make her comeback for the lingerie empire this December after a one year hiatus.

Melbourne-born Ms Shaik revealed to Harper’s Bazaar that she maintains her flawless figure by eating for her blood type, which involves eating protein and a small amount of carbs.

‘A typical day of eating for me would be a pre-made chocolate flavoured protein shake mixed with filtered water or an egg white omelette with spinach,’ she said.

Lunch involves a salad with plenty of greens and protein, followed by a similar dinner with snacks of pineapple, mango and banana.

Every now and then Ms Shaik indulges in pasta and ice cream which are her biggest weaknesses.

And when it comes to exercise, Ms Shaik focuses on strength and conditioning with her New York based personal trainer and occasional classes of Soul Cycle and boxing.

She keeps her skin dewy and radiant with the help of Kora Organics, Cetaphil and Neutrogena while favouring Maybelline for their eye shadows.

‘For breakfast, I have a shake which is one tablespoon of almond butter, one cup of unsweetened almond milk, one scoop of Moon Juice Chocolate Adaptogenic Protein and one scoop of collagen peptides,’ she told Husskie.

If she’s hungry by mid-morning she will snack on either a handful of nuts, 85 per cent dark chocolate or a Bulletproof Collagen Protein Bar.

Speaking to Vogue Australia ahead of last years’ extravaganza, 23-year-old Ms Gale said she eats healthy all year round but likes to kick things into ‘high gear’ about four weeks before the show.

‘For me [it] mean cutting out sodium. I try to stay away from all kinds of sugars except what I get from the berries in my breakfast and coconut sugar from the occasional raw vegan chocolate bar I eat,’ she said.
