Black man shares video ‘berating a cop for pulling a gun’

Video footage appearing to show a black man berating a police officer for allegedly pulling a gun on him during a traffic stop has emerged on social media.

A man posting under the name Randell Minott shared a minute-long video on Facebook showing him speaking to the camera as an officer silently stands outside his car window.

The man claims that the officer had pulled a gun on him after pulling him over for a turn signal violation, though neither incident is in the footage posted.

It is unclear where Minott filmed the video, but it is believed he is based in East Orange, New Jersey.

‘Turn signal not made is a big enough of a crime for you to feel like you need to take out your service pistol,’ the man says on the video, which has since gone viral on Facebook and Instagram. ‘Right? Right? Right? That’s what’s up.’

Minott shared the video, which has not been verified by MailOnline, with the caption: ‘I could of been a statistic if this a****** made a mistake and shot me…’

He later shared a longer version of the video making reference to Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett, who said he was racially profiled by police in Las Vegas in August.

His longer caption read: ‘MICHEAL BENNET a rich football player and they threw his as** on the floor and pushed a gun in his head for nothing and still you lost souls still jump on every video defending these dudes.

‘If you have a problem with the way I talk to a cop who ILLEGALLY POINTED A GUN AT MY HEAD then LEAVE THIS COUNTRY (see what I did there #LOL) Because last I check its in my constitutional rights #GoAmerikkka

‘If he made a mistake and killed me him and his partner would of made up any kind of lie to get him off…even if they had to make me seem like I was up to something.

‘The day a POLICE OFFICER snitches on his fellow BAD OFFICER and GET REWARDED FOR IT instead of bashed I will start trusting police… until then you know the drill!!!’

Two weeks ago, Bennett was detained on a Las Vegas street for about ten minutes by police who were investigating the firing of gunshots in the area.

Bennett has alleged that he had been the victim of racial discrimination after being threatened at gunpoint by the police.

He said they ‘singled’ him out for ‘nothing more than being a black man in the wrong place at the wrong time’.

In the longer video of Minott’s reaction to the police officer, he can be seen yelling at the cop for several minutes.

‘Good cops get f***** up because of people like you,’ he says. ‘You came to the car with your gun out. For what? Do you have no conscious? Do you not see what’s going on on TV? But you don’t give a f***, because I’ll just be another dead black motherf*****, right?’

He acknowledges the officer had picked a ‘dangerous job’, but says his respect for him had ‘out of the f****** window’.

Minott mentions that he’s a father of three and if he was shot by a police officer, his children would be left without a father figure.

The officer can be heard occasionally saying ‘OK’ as Minott continues to speak.

According to his Facebook page, Minott is based in Kathmandu, Nepal, though he is from East Orange, New Jersey.

He appears to be a musical artist working under the name Jimmy Spliff.

It is unclear where the alleged traffic stop took place and where the video of the alleged incident took place.

Buzzfeed confirmed that an address in East Orange matched an address on public record for Minott.

The officer in the video is not wearing defining badges that would help determine where the incident was filmed. Instead, he wears a bulletproof vest reading ‘Police’ across the chest.

MailOnline has reached out to Minott through Facebook but has not received a response.
