K-pop group BLACKPINK finally announce Australian dates for their sold-out Born Pink world tour

K-pop superstars BLACKPINK have finally confirmed Australian dates for their Born Pink world tour.

The quartet will perform two shows in Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on June 10 and 11 and another two shows at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on June 16 and 17.

The tour, which kicked off last year, has already produced sold-out concerts in South Korea, North America, and Europe.

BLACKPINK are one of the most popular K-pop groups Down Under due to their connection to Australia and New Zealand.

Member Roseanne ‘Rosé’ Park was born in Auckland and raised in Melbourne, while Jennie Kim spent five years studying in New Zealand.

Rosé covered Australian Vogue magazine in 2021 and 2022 and is a global brand ambassador for Yves Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co.

BLACKPINK’s two studio albums, Born Pink and The Album, both reached No. 2 on Australia’s ARIA chart.

Last year, they achieved their first No. 1 single Down Under with Pink Venom.

Born Pink has since sold over 2.5million copies worldwide.  

BLACKPINK are one of the most popular bands in the world – becoming the most subscribed artist on YouTube in 2021, and now have some 84.1m subscribers – and are comprised of members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé.

They will become the first ever Asian act to headline Coachella and were named Time magazine’s entertainer of the year for 2022.

The foursome were launched in 2016 by YG Entertainment and quickly amassed a global fanbase due to their diverse members and westernised sound. 

Their music video DDU-DU DDU-DU has over 2billion views on YouTube.
