Blake Colman got $32,500 workers comp for thumb injury

He’s known for his good looks and being the ‘villain’ on this season of The Bachelorette.

But Blake Colman’s life hasn’t all been plain sailing as an insider has revealed to Daily Mail Australia that the raven-haired hunk suffered a work injury in 2011 that permanently damaged his left thumb.

The source, who worked at the law firm representing Blake at the time, said the 29-year-old’s thumb was amputated after a freak accident and he cannot straighten it.

‘Blake was working with a company that installs rubber surfacing for public playgrounds when his left thumb was partly amputated by a faulty rubber extruding machine,’ the source told Daily Mail Australia.

‘It was reattached, but his left thumb cannot be straightened out. He would have received a substantial payment for this injury.’  

According to an employee at Work Cover WA, Blake would have received up to $32,419 for his injury.

The reality star’s LinkedIn profile shows that he once ran a business called Coolman Refrigeration, which specialised in ‘residential housing for AC Installation’.

The official Facebook page for his former business boasts 74 fans, and contains an offer for bargain air conditioning servicing at $99.
