Blue-eyed puppy is stolen at gunpoint by two suspects while out walking in Maryland with its owner

  • The owner was walking the puppy named Lobo in Landover, Maryland on Monday at about 1.40pm when the animal was snatched 
  • Police are searching for two suspects, a male and female, who fled the area in a gray car with Virginia license plates
  • Female had a gun drawn when she demanded the owner hand over his puppy
  • Owner said he grabbed the gun but let go when he noticed the male suspect 
  • Before snatching the puppy, the woman pulled the trigger multiple times but the gun failed to fire 

Police are searching for two people accused of stealing a man’s puppy at gunpoint while out on a walk.

The owner was walking the puppy named Lobo in Landover, Maryland on Monday at about 1.40pm when the animal was snatched.

Authorities said the owner noticed a gray car with Virginia license plates passing him and his puppy before it pulled over a short distance ahead.

He saw an adult female jump out of the car and head towards the trunk.

The owner said the woman then approached him from behind with a gun drawn and demanded the puppy. 

He told police that he grabbed the gun and got into a struggle with the woman.  

He said he let go of the gun when the second suspect, an adult male, quickly approached them. 

When he let go of the gun, he said the woman pulled the trigger multiple times but the weapon failed to fire. 

That’s when the female grabbed the puppy and the two suspects fled together in the getaway car.

Police said the puppy’s owner suffered minor injuries in the ordeal. 

The driven by the suspects is described as a gray Ford Crown Victoria with Virginia tags and has a black front fender and hood. 

The car is missing its rear passenger side hubcap. 

The female suspect is believed to have face tattoos.

Police said that the suspects are considered armed and dangerous. 

Investigators warned anyone who spots Lobo, the suspects, or the suspect’s vehicle, to avoid approaching and instead call 911 immediately.
