Blue Mountains NSW: Grim discovery in disappearance of man who vanished from Sydney’s inner-west

The search for a man who vanished without a trace three months ago has ended in tragedy after his body was found in a national park. 

The man, 52, was last seen at a home in Lilyfield in Sydney’s inner-west on March 17 and hadn’t been seen or heard from since.

He was reported missing when he couldn’t be reached by friends and loved ones. 

It was believed the man may have gone to Blue Mountains, west of Sydney.

A member of the public contacted police after they came across human remains in  Blue Mountains National Park last Wednesday.

A police investigation commenced and a crime scene was established.

NSW Police confirmed the identity of the remains on Tuesday.

There were no suspicious circumstances in the man’s death.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
