Body found in unit fire above Sunshine Dry Cleaners on Glengala Road

Horror as body discovered in the charred rubble of a unit above a dry cleaners – as arson detectives scour the grisly scene

  • A body was discovered in a residential fire in Melbourne
  • The fire took hold at a shop front in Sunshine West on Tuesday 
  • A man was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said 

A body has been discovered after a residential unit above a shop exploded into flames prompting police to establish a crime scene. 

Fire crews rushed to the flat above Sunshine Dry Cleaners, on Glengala Road in Melbourne’s Sunshine West at about 4:20pm on Tuesday.

The body was located inside the home above the shopfront and a man was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.  

Police and arson investigators are working to find out the cause.
