The remains of a man were found inside and on Thursday police revealed it was Mr Pearce.
Police believe he lost control of his car, went off the road and crashed into a tree in the field, causing a fire.
The news has devastated Mr Pearce’s parents, Jo and Gary from the Illawarra region.
Mrs Pearce described her son as a ‘loving, kind hearted person,’ reported the Illawarra Star.
In her bid to find her son last month, she said: ‘He rang or messaged me nearly every day. Sometimes for no reason at all. He is my boy. I need my boy home.
‘Someone knows where he is and all I ask is that person tells me or the police.’
