Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead in an a launderette.

Police were called last night to Baylee’s Laundrette in Grays, Essex, after a member of the public made the grisly discovery.

The man had suffered multiple injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

Essex Police have launched a murder enquiry and officers are a team of forensic officers are working inside the launderette today.

A blue and white forensic examination tent has been placed across the entrance to the business which sits on the busy Southend Road nextdoor to a popular Domino’s takeaway.

Detectives arrested a 39-year-old man at the scene on suspicion of murder.

He is still in police custody this morning for questioning.

A police spokesman said: ‘Detectives are asking witnesses who have yet to come forward to contact Brentwood Major Investigation Team on 101 or email scdappeals@essex.pnn.police.uk.

‘Alternatively, contact independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.’
