A sheriff told local media that they suspect Robledo didn’t anchor his boat before jumping in.

‘At this time there is no evidence showing foul play and appears to be an accidental drowning.’

The little girl was not injured and was said by police to be in ‘good condition.’

Rescue crews used boats, a dive team, drones, and aircraft to search for the father.

They found the man’s body near Hunter Park in a canal behind houses in the Laguna Tres neighborhood on Friday evening.

Lieutenant Johnny Rose, who works with the Hood County Sheriff’s Office, told the Forth Worth Star-Telegram: ‘It’s a parent’s worst nightmare. I have children, and a 3-year-old out at night.

‘Thank God she was found in the morning time, because out in this heat, we could have had another fatality.’

Police do not suspect that foul play or suicide is involved. Rose told local media that they suspect Robledo didn’t anchor his boat before jumping in.

They believe a current caught it, pushing both it and him to where they were found.
