Body of missing autistic Seattle boy found in a trash bin

The body of a missing six-year-old boy with autism has been found in a trash bin early on Tuesday morning.

Searchers looking overnight found Dayvid Pakko’s body dumped inside a dumpster at the apartment complex where he lived .

The boy was reported missing at about 5 p.m. Monday. He had stayed home sick from school that day sand was last seen in his Lynnwood home around 2:30 p.m. 

A search team, including a helicopter, several K-9 crews, detectives and more than 60 volunteers searched through the night and found the boy at about 2 a.m. 

‘There is evidence that the boy was the victim of homicide,’ Shari Ireton of the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said in a prepared statement.

The sheriff’s office said David was under adult supervision while he was at home, but did not say who he was with. 

A 19-year-old male relative of the boy has been taken into custody, however he has not been charged. 

The search for the boy started on Monday afternoon after he went missing from his home. 

Pakko’s mother said he stayed home from school and another adult was taking care of him. It’s not clear if that adult was the 19-year-old relative who is now in custody. 

The boy’s cause and manner of death will be released by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office.
