Bodycam footage in moments after Army vet, 52, shot dead at screening of new Jennifer Lawrence film

A 19-year-old suspected of shooting and killing a 52-year-old Army vet while he was out with his wife for a movie in New Mexico was seen pleading for help from cops in the moments after the incident.

Michael Tenorio, 52, was shot dead at the Century Rio Theater in Albuquerque on Sunday where he and his wife Trina went to watch a late night screening of the new Jennifer Lawrence movie ‘No Hard Feelings.’

Trina and her family paid tribute to the 52-year-old, the mourning wife posting a picture to Instagram with the caption: ‘Mike is always going to be the best dad ever. He help raised my children to be strong.

‘Please keep us in your prayers. I miss you my love now and forever. My world will never be the same.’

Enrique Padilla was arrested on Monday in connection with the shooting.

New police bodycam footage revealed the moment cops arrived at the scene where the 19-year-old was sitting on a curb outside the theater with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

In the footage released Tuesday, an officer can be seen driving through the parking lot of the movie theater when a woman flagged him down and said ‘he’s been shot.’

The officer quickly gets out of the vehicle and walks over to Padilla asking whether he had a gun, to which he replied ‘no.’

‘Excuse me sir, I have been shot right here,’ Padilla can be heard telling the officer, pointing to his side. The officer told Padilla to put pressure on it before asking if he can walk.

Padilla can then be heard asking the officer to take him to the hospital.

‘Please sir, I’m bleeding,’ he said as the officer asked Padilla who shot him and where the shooting happened.

The 19-year-old suspected gunman said ‘it came from this way,’ as he motioned with his arm to imitate the gunshot, he then added that he’d been in theater 15 at the time. It remains unclear how Padilla was shot.

In the footage people can be seen running from the theater frantically as responding officers run into theater 15 yelling ‘put your hands up’ before turning to a group of people standing in the back row.

Inside the theater officers were not met with an active shooter – instead they found Tenorio dead.

Police revealed that they found a gun allegedly used to shoot Tenorio in the bushes near where Padilla had been sitting with a casing that matched one found in the theater.

Padilla can then be heard asking the officer to take him to the hospital and motioned towards his abdomen to say where he was shot - it remains unclear how he sustained the gun shot wound

A criminal complaint and arrest warrant against Padilla listed open counts of homicide, shooting at an occupied building and tampering with evidence.

An off-duty police officer who was at the movie administered emergency aid to Tenorio.

The officer witnessed the confrontation but did not see a weapon in the darkened theater, reporting a rapid-fire succession of gunshots before one man in the dispute ran out.

Witnesses told police at the time that a man later identified as Padilla arrived at the theater with his girlfriend and found another couple in at least one of their reserved seats.
