Bored Panda photos of people’s historical doppelgangers

To be described as an oil painting is considered a compliment, therefore these lucky art fans must be feeling rather chuffed.

In a series of astonishing images compiled by BoredPanda, museum-goers have shared incredible photos of their historical doppelgangers in painting form.

In the selection of snaps tourists pose next to their lookalikes in museums and galleries around the world – and the resemblance is uncanny.

In several coincidental cases visitors happened to be dressed in near-identical outfits as the figure in the portrait, making for even more startling comparisons.

And some had deliberately dressed up in costume to perfectly mirror their canvas twin.

Art fans have been sharing their uncanny resemblance to museum portraits in new photos. Pictured: A woman looks identical to the girl in Edgar Degas’ Le Village
