Bournemouth have completed the signing of Lyon midfielder Romain Faivre for around £12.8million.
However, the Cherries will immediately loan him out to Ligue 1 side Lorient, where he spent the second half of last season on loan.
The 24-year-old will link up his Bournemouth team-mates in the summer of 2024, as per Sky Sports’ report of his transfer.
Bournemouth were impressed with Faivre’s form at Lorient, where he scored five goals in 17 games. He splits his time between the right flank and central attacking midfield.
In January, Bournemouth chairman Bill Foley acquired minority ownership of Lorient – a 33% stake – which sparked protestations from fans of the French outfit.

The American had only completed a £150m takeover of the Cherries in December and is pursuing a multi-club ownership model, which has been popularised in recent years by the City Football Group.
Bournemouth appointed Spaniard Andoni Iraola last month after parting ways over a phone call with Gary O’Neil, who led them to a 14th-placed finish on their return to England’s top table.
After playing for Tours B and Monaco B, Faivre made his Monaco debut in 2018, incidentally in a 1-0 win over Lorient.
In 2020 he moved to Brest, where he scored 14 goals in 59 games before earning a move to Lyon in 2022.
Faivre should not be confused with sporting counterpart Romain Febvre, the 2015 FIM World Motocross Championship winner, who also hails from northern France.
