Boxer Brock Jarvis splits with Jeff Fenech and stops going out with Aussie fight legend’s daughter

Talented Australian boxer Brock Jarvis has sensationally split with long-time trainer Jeff Fenech and revealed he recently broke up with the Hall of Famer’s daughter Kayla, too.

Jarvis, who is regarded by many as one the nation’s hottest young boxing prospects, has flown out to Las Vegas to train and potentially make a move up to middleweight.

The 25-year-old Sydneysider says he parted with Fenech on ‘good terms’ and indicated the pair fell out over which weight he should fight at.

‘Everything is fine,’ Jarvis told foxsports.com.au.

‘Jeff and I have parted ways, but we’ve got no problems.

‘We just don’t see eye-to-eye on the weight I want to fight at.

‘Otherwise, though, we’re still on good terms. I’m just doing my own thing.

‘I’m going to head overseas and try something different. Get to America and see how things are over there.’

Jarvis, who was sensationally knocked out in the first round against Aussie Liam Paro last year, conducts his business at featherweight and lightweight.

A move to middleweight is a significant career shift.

‘This has been the hardest decision of my life,’ said Fenech. ‘I’ve been with Brock since he was 16 so it’s been really difficult.

‘Not only because he went out with my daughter, he really was like my son.

‘So this has been s***, I’ve had sleepless nights.

‘And I know it will be hurting him too because of what we’ve been through.

‘But what can I do? I can’t do something that I don’t believe is right.

‘Brock’s a good kid who works really hard but I’m a realist and told him what I believe – that I think he’s moving up too much in weight.

‘But he’s told me what he believes and if you aren’t on the same page, [staying together] is the worst thing you can do.’

‘I respect the kid, he’s from an amazing family, I’m blessed to have this guy with my daughter,’ Fenech told Daily Mail Australia in 2021.

‘The climax would be the world title, but maybe a few years down the track he might be married to my daughter.’

‘We’re not together anymore, no,’ Jarvis said.

‘But everything is fine. No bad blood. I’m just doing my own thing.’
