Two-time super featherweight world champion boxer Gervonta Davis was arrested early Friday morning in Washington D.C. after an argument at a local club.
According to police, the Baltimore native was seen arguing with Ricardo Jose Rodriguez of Silver Spring around 3am. At some point, the argument turned physical and eventually both men were arrested and charged with disorderly affray, according to the Baltimore Sun.
Davis tweeted Friday morning to assure everyone he was fine.
‘I am ok,’ he wrote. ‘Please do not judge me off of the media..they gonna paint me a bad picture every time.’
Davis does not have an extensive criminal history, although he was charged with second-degree assault in Maryland, but the charges were later dropped. Davis’s accuser, lifelong friend Anthony Wheeler, were seen hugging after the charges were dismissed, according to the Baltimore Sun.
