Boxing fans have slammed Conor Benn after his failed drugs test plunged his blockbuster fight with Chris Eubank Jr into doubt.
Sportsmail on Wednesday exclusively revealed that Benn had been notified he had returned an adverse finding for the banned substance clomifene.
And social media users were quick to hit out at Benn following the bombshell news, which comes just days before Saturday’s huge contest.
One called Benn an ‘absolute melon’, while another social media user said the 26-year-old Brit should be banned for life.
‘Maybe this was the reason Eubank Snr didn’t want the fight to happen but couldn’t say,’ another added. ‘If true then Benn is finished in boxing.’
Sources have told Sportsmail that Eubank Jr wants to carry on with the fight, a development which has sparked praise from fans on Twitter.
