Bizarre footage shows two thieves stealing bags of horse manure from a 10-year-old boy’s road-side stall in the middle of the night.

Peter Hosking’s grandson Marshall was selling bags of horse manure for $3 on the side of the road at Bilambil, north-eastern New South Wales, to save enough money to buy a laptop.

The 10-year-old, who relied on buyers to put the $3 in an honesty box, said he was ‘disappointed and sad’ to wake up to an empty stall last month.

‘I didn’t think people would steal all the horse poo,’ Marshall said.

Footage of the petty theft, which was captured on CCTV, appears to shows two people, a man and a woman, creeping up to the bags and loading them into their car.

In the footage, a car engine can be heard starting up before the vehicle is driven away.

Peter Hosking said his grandson was ‘devastated’.

‘It takes him all day to pick up enough to make up 20 bags, and takes a week or so to sell.

Peter said product was stolen from the roadside stall at least once a month.
