A 17-year-old boy has died following a stabbing last night in Camberley, Surrey, while another boy the same age has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A police cordon remains in place around the scene of the crime, which is understood to have taken place at around 11.30pm yesterday.

Officers were called out to a leafy suburb in the small market town, which has a reputation as one of the safest places to live in the south east.

A Surrey police spokesman said: ‘We were called to reports of a stabbing at an address in Camberley just after 11:30pm last night.

‘A 17-year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of murder, he remains in custody.

‘Sadly a 17 year old man has died from his injuries at the scene. His family are aware and are being supported by officers.

‘There will be an increase in police presence in the area during the day as our investigation into this incident continues.
