A seven-year-old boy died Monday morning after his mother’s car crashed into a tree.
Police believe the family was on their way home from a beach holiday when the car crashed in South Australia, injuring two of the boy’s siblings when they were thrown from the car.
The boy died at the scene while his mother, 34, was trapped in the car for about an hour, according to The Advertiser.

Two of the boy’s siblings aged two and seven were both injured when thrown from the car
Helicopters were flown to the scene where the silver Holden station wagon crashed about 40 kilometres southeast of Adelaide at about 6.30 Monday morning.
A girl, two, sustained head injuries and a boy, seven, sustained chest injuries where they were both flown to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital while the mother was flown to Flinders Medical Centre, according to the publication.
‘We think they’ve been returning from perhaps a weekend down at the beach by the look [of] the contents in the back of the car … there was just holiday things like kids’ flotation devices [and] surfboards,’ SA Police sergeant Eddie McLean told The Advertiser.
Major Crash investigators are looking at the possibility of the car swerving to miss a kangaroo.
