A young boy was sent to hospital after getting a fish bone stuck in his throat while eating Coles ‘boneless’ salmon.
His mother Chantelle Galea shared a post to the Coles Facebook page explaining her ten-year-old son had his tonsil pierced by the fish bone.
‘My family was sitting together enjoying a beautiful, nutritious dinner – until my child choked on a bone!,’ Ms Galea wrote.

‘We ended up at the Royal Children’s Hospital with a bone stuck in my child’s tonsil!!!’
The mother claimed fish bones were in all the Salmon fillets, despite the packaging being labelled ‘boneless and skin on’.
Ms Galea described the moment as ‘horrifying’ and said her young son had a sore throat for the ordeal.
After lodging a complaint with Coles, the supermarket giant responded to the Facebook post asking the mother to send a private message with the product details.
However, Ms Galea later took to Facebook saying she was ‘disgusted’ by the way Coles handled the situation and told them to ‘lift their game’.
Ms Galea told 9 News Coles hadn’t apologised and they hadn’t offered compensation for the suffering her son went through Wednesday night.

‘He was crying so I tried to calm him down as much as I could … he was crying, out-of-control,’ she told the publication.
‘I was looking for boneless salmon and I didn’t get it.
‘I won’t be buying that product ever again.’
A Coles spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia they take ‘quality and safety’ of all their products ‘extremely seriously’.
‘We have contacted the customer and are currently investigating this matter with our supplier,’ the spokesperson said.
