Boyfriend of Holby City star’s model daughter appears in court

Ceon Broughton, 29, is accused of the manslaughter by gross negligence of Louella Fletcher-Michie at Bestival last September

The boyfriend of the daughter of Holby City star John Michie today appeared in court accused of killing her at a music festival.

Ceon Broughton, 29, is accused of the manslaughter by gross negligence of Louella Fletcher-Michie at Bestival last September.

The 25-year-old model died after taking an overdose of ecstasy and ketamine at the event at Lulworth Castle, Dorset.

Her body was found in a secluded wooded area of the festival site.

Last month an inquest that opened into her death heard she endured a period of agitation as a result of taking the drugs before her airways became blocked.

Mr Broughton, from Enfield, north London, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court today wearing black jeans, white trainers, a white cable knit jumper and black puffer jacket.

He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address and described himself as black British nationality.

The court heard that the charge is that on September 12 last year he unlawfully killed Louella Fletcher-Michie at Lulworth.

The clerk told the magistrates that the charge was an indictable only offence and the case would be sent straight to a crown court.

Mr Broughton’s case was adjourned by the magistrates and he will next appear at Winchester Crown Court on April 20.

Mr Broughton was released on bail.

In a statement released through Mr Michie’s agent shortly after his daughter’s death, the family said: ‘Our hearts are broken by this horrific tragedy.

‘Louella inspired all who knew her with her joy of life. The family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt tributes and messages.’

Ex-Coronation Street and Taggart actor Mr Michie, 61, and his wife Carol – a former Hot Gossip singer – have two other children, Daisy and Sam.
