  • The former employee – who is over 60 – claims she was fired after two decades because Brandy did not want an ‘older’ housekeeper
  • She also alleges that she is owed two days pay and was never given legally required breaks during her tenure with the star making $125 per day
  • Norwood’s reps told TMZ: ‘We disagree and will have further comments after we speak with our lawyers.’
  • Brandy was also sued in January by a designer for allegedly keeping or losing a ring she was loaned for an awards show

Singer Brandy Norwood is being sued for $250K by her former housekeeper for age discrimination, it was reported on Friday.

The ex-employee, who is over 60, accused the star of giving her the boot due to her age and claims she is still owned money by the 43-year-old, according to TMZ.

This latest suit comes just a few months after Norwood was sued for allegedly keeping or losing a ring she was loaned for an awards show.

In court: Singer Brandy Norwood is being sued for $250K by her former housekeeper for age discrimination, and claims she is still owned money by the 43-year-old, according to TMZ

In legal documents, the housekeeper claims she was fired last month after two decades working for the Moesha star at her home in Calabasas for $125 per day.

The woman alleges that she was unceremoniously let go because Norwood did not want an ‘older’ housekeeper, TMZ reported.

She also claims that Brandy did not give her ‘legally required breaks’, and says she was not paid for her last two days of work.

Norwood’s reps told TMZ: ‘We disagree and will have further comments after we speak with our lawyers.’

The housekeeper is demanding back pay for the two days lost as well as $250K in damages.

This is the second lawsuit filed against Brandy in 2022. Back in January, Norwood was sued over a missing $45,000 ring that she was supposed to wear at the American Music Awards in November.

The Boy is Mine singer and her stylist, Ashley Sean Thomas, were both named in the lawsuit by fashion designer and Beverly Hills studio owner Elle B. Mambetov.

It was alleged that Brandy and her stylist had never returned the Dreamboule Big Bang Love Black Ring ring which is priced at $44,200 on the designer’s website.

The accessory is an 18K rose gold polished with white diamonds featuring a sapphire crystal dome and stunning contrast in the form of black volcanic stone.

According to the lawsuit Mambetov claims that Thomas had told her that the piece of jewelry was last seen on the piano of Brandy’s mansion in Calabasas.

One thing to note is that Brandy did not actually end up wearing the ring at the AMAs as she presented the award for Favorite Pop Album in which Taylor Swift won for evermore.

As stylists often put together several different outfit and jewelry combinations for such high-profile events it is not uncommon for borrowed ensembles to be skipped.

Mambetov sued Brandy and Thomas for the value of her ring in addition to other damages with claims she has not only suffered financial losses but also emotional trauma.

A rep for Thomas later gave TMZ a statement denying the allegations and that he ‘looks forward to presenting the facts in the appropriate forum.’
