BREAKING NEWS: High school police officer shoots armed student at a Wisconsin high school – 24 hours after another classroom cop shot a boy, 17, with a gun just 90 miles away

  • An armed student was shot by a school resource officer at Oshkosh West High School in Oshkosh, Wisconsin early Tuesday morning 
  • The armed student confronted the officer, leading the cop to fire at the pupil 
  • Both the cop and student were injured and transported to local hospitals  
  • No other students were harmed in the shooting 
  • The school is currently on lockdown and parents have been notified that they can reunite with their children at Perry Tipler Middle School
  • Police did not specify what type of weapon was used 
  • Tuesday’s shooting was the second school shooting in two days in Wisconsin 

An armed student was shot by a school resource officer at a Wisconsin high school early Tuesday morning.  

Around 11am EST the Okshkosh Police Department announced a shooting broke out at Oshkosh West High School. 

In the incident an armed student confronted a school resource officer, leading the cop to fire at the pupil. 

Both the student and the officer were hurt in the confrontation, police say, and transported to local hospitals. 

‘The student and officer were both injured and transported to local hospitals. Only one student was injured,’ the police department said.

No other pupils besides the armed student were hurt in the incident.  

Police did not specify what type of weapon the student used. 

The school is currently on lockdown and parents have been notified that they can reunite with their children at  Perry Tipler Middle School.

On Tuesday morning the UW-Oshkosh  Police sent out a Titan Alert saying Oshkosh Police are investigating an ’emergency situation at a City of Oshkosh school.’

The incident has been turned over the state department of criminal investigations.   

The shooting comes one day after a similar incident in Waukesha, about 90 miles away from Oshkosh West High, on Monday. 

In the Monday incident an officer shot an armed male student at Waukesha South High School.

The student was shot after the suspect refused to disarm and pointed his gun at officers around 10.17am.

The student was hospitalized after he was shot and is in stable condition. 

The officer who shot the student is an 11-year veteran of the Waukesha police department.
