Brendan Fevola reveals the staggering amount he was paid to star on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Brendan Fevola has revealed the jaw-dropping amount he was paid to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Australia.

The former AFL player, 43, said he was paid $500,000 to star on the reality show in 2016.

‘I was on about $500,000. It was $350,000 and $5000 a day after that. All up close to half a mill,’ he told the Herald Sun.

Brendan also revealed he negotiated a special clause on his contract which allowed him to smoke.

The sports star was crowned winner of the show’s second series in 2016, beating out fellow contestants including Shane Warne, Anthony Callea and Havana Brown.

He previously revealed all the stars were not paid the same, with late cricketer Shane taking home a jaw-dropping $2.2million for his time on the show.

‘He had a clause in his contract that if he left, he didn’t get anything. So, he had to stay in – and there was one time where he was like, “Man, I’m done,” and I would go, “$2.2 million, don’t leave!”,’ he revealed on Fox’s Fifi, Fev and Nick breakfast show.

Shane was the eighth celebrity to be eliminated from the 2016 season of the show, losing the nail-biting race to Brendan and the runner-up, NRL star Paul Harragon.

Earlier this year, Daily Mail Australia revealed the celebrities of the 2024 season weren’t getting paid as much.

An insider on the Channel 10 survival series claimed one male cast member this season took home $90,000 for two weeks.

If they put up with the notoriously grisly jungle conditions they get another $5,000 every day after that for the chance to win $100,000 for their favourite charity.

Skye Wheatley said her pay on the series didn’t match her regular earnings as an influencer.

‘To be honest, I would make more money being at home,’ the former Big Brother star, 30, said in an interview with Pedestrian TV.

The high-profile social media star added: ‘I’d do it for free. It’s for charity, babes, who gives a f**k about the money.’

Skye’s co-star Callum Hole, 24, told the publication he was being paid ‘good money’ and earning more than what he was paid on Love Island.

Khanh Ong, 30, added that after four attempts producers were finally able to persuade him to appear on the series – at a fee much higher than his original offer.
