Former TV star Don Burke is making headlines for all the wrong reasons this week as numerous sexual assault allegations against him come to light.
And on Today Extra on Wednesday, Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones put his foot in it when he made a remark about Sonia Kruger’s ‘bosoms’.
In a segment discussing sexual harassment, Jonesy started off by saying it didn’t matter what women were wearing, there is still no excuse for men to feel entitled to make comments about their bodies.
Tone-deaf remarks: Appearing on Today Extra on Wednesday, radio personality Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones made David Campbell (left) cringe after he complimented Sonia Kruger’s (right) ‘bosoms’ after she wore a racy outfit to the ARIAs
Interjecting, Sonia then said: ‘But you complimented me on what I was wearing last night at the ARIAs.’
‘I said you looked lovely,’ Jonesy responded, before a hesitant Sonia replied, ‘Yes. Sort of.’
Continuing Jonesy explained: ‘I said there was a hint of bosom there.’
Not impressed, co-host David Campbell told him: ‘You can’t say that.’

Protesting his innocence, Jonesy claimed, ‘I’m hardly Don Burke!’
For her part, Sonia clarified: ‘It was a plunging jacket.’
A clearly shocked David, who put his face in his hands, seemed keen to steer away from controversy and said, ‘Let’s move on.’
However, David’s attempt to brush the awkward comment under the carpet fell flat.
‘I get worried when Dave says move on,’ said Jonesy.
During the segment the panel had been discussing 92-year-old actress Angela Lansbury’s controversial comments regarding the recent wave of sexual harassment allegations in the media.
She told The Radio Times on Tuesday that she thought ‘attractive’ women should shoulder some of the blame.
‘There are two sides to this coin,’ she told the UK publication.
‘We have to own up to the fact that women, since time immemorial, have gone out of their way to make themselves attractive. And unfortunately it has backfired on us — and this is where we are today.’

Since Monday, scores of women have come forward publicly to accuse Don Burke of making lewd and demeaning comments to women as well as touching people inappropriately.
Among the claims against the disgraced gardener are that he sexually harassed numerous female colleagues, as well as groped women and a teenage girl.
While Don strenuously denies the sexual harassment and misconduct claims, he confessed to A Current Affair of being a ‘bully’ and cheating on his wife several times.
