Brewers pitching prospect regularly tops 100MPH with his fastball at the MLB Futures Game as he strikes out two batters in one inning of work

At Saturday’s MLB Futures Game, one pitcher showed off the blistering speed of his fastball on a big stage.

Brewers right hander Jacob Misiorowski appeared in only one inning, but made the most of it by routinely clocking his fastball around 100mph. In the process, he struck out two batters.

In fact, the Missouri-born pitcher tossed ten pitches that hit at least 100mph, with the slowest fastball he threw clocking in at 99.8mph.

On average, he threw for 100.6 miles an hour – good for over five miles an hour faster than the averages of 12 other pitchers that appeared in the game.

Of the 17 total pitchers that appeared in the game, Misiorowski threw the ten fastest pitches of everyone – along with 11 of the 12 highest velocity pitches.

Misiorowski currently plays at the High-Single-A level with the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers in the Midwest League.

He began the season in the Carolina League with another one of Milwaukee’s Single-A affiliates, the Carolina Mudcats.

After initially committing to play at Oklahoma State University, Misiorowski changed his mind and enrolled at Crowder College in his home state.

He earned second-team All-American honors at the junior college level and committed to transfer to LSU.

But after participating in the MLB combine, the Brewers selected him in the second round of the 2022 Draft with the 63rd overall pick. Milwaukee signed him in July of 2022 with a bonus of $2.35million.
