A bride has been left horrified by her wedding photos which repeatedly caught her cackling with her mouth wide open.

Phoebe Batteson-Brown, from London, took to TikTok to share a series of snapshots taken on her big day – as she issued a warning to others tying the knot.

The 32-year-old, who works as an actor and comedian, urged couples to practice their ‘soft smile’ before the ceremony if they want ‘aesthetic’ images.

But other social media users were quick to defend the photos and said they captured the newlywed’s ‘utter joy.’

In the clip, which has been viewed more than 1.6 million times, Phoebe gazes toward the camera as if deep in thought.

There is an overwritten caption that reads: ‘Someone didn’t practice a “soft smile” for their wedding and it shows…’

She then shares a slew of images from the wedding day which show her in a dazzling gown – posing with her bouquet, walking hand-in-hand with new husband Max and clutching a glass of bubbly.

But, in all of the pictures on display, Phoebe can be seen with her mouth agape in sheer delight – much to her dismay.

She uploaded the video alongside a caption that read ‘soft smile who’ and overlaid a backing track of ‘I Can’t Help It’ by JVKE.

Despite her apparent dissatisfaction, other social media users were quick to flood the comments with support.

One wrote: ‘Aww it just show ls how happy and excited you were.’

Another added: ‘No but the UTTER joy is filling my heart.’

For anyone out of he loop, a ‘soft smile’ is defined as ‘one in which your lips gently curl at the corners of your mouth, on occasion exposing a slight showing of teeth,’ according to popular wedding site The Knot.

It claims that it appears as ‘elegant’ and ‘gentle without being overly expressive.’ 

But concludes: ‘To many, a soft smile is elusive and mysterious.’
