Brighton are in talks to sign Swedish midfielder Yasin Ayari for around £5million.

The 19-year-old plays for AIK and has been capped twice by Sweden, impressing on his debut against Finland. 

He almost joined AZ Alkmaar last summer and has had enquiries from Italian clubs before Brighton stepped in.

He is expected to travel to England later this week once a fee is finalised and pending a work permit.

Ayari featured 24 times in the Swedish top flight for AIK last season, scoring four goals and registering two assists.

Ayari also represented the club during their Europa Conference League qualifiers last summer.

The 19-year-old starlet is under contract at AIK until 2025 but could exit his deal early to join  Brighton.
