Brisbane’s Comic Con event has brought all manner of costumes to the fore, including a creepy Pennywise clown, a female Spiderman and Sailor Moon characters.
The event, which is on five times a year across the Australian states, is a hub of pop culture and cosplayers visiting exhibitions, winning prizes and meeting like-minded friends in the process.
Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre hosted Comic Con on September 23 and 24 with general entry tickets costing $57.50.

Now that’s a costume! One man wore an elaborate wig and face makeup to the Brisbane show

A sexy Spiderman suit was on the agenda for one red-headed vixen who stared down the camera while leaning against a white picket fence
Those that attended donned weird and wonderful outfits with one woman deciding on a Space Jam-themed ‘Tune Squad’ t-shirt and basketball.
She showed off her ball skills surrounded by children in prams, with kids as young as four allowed to attend the event for free.
Another partaker chose to dress with Maleficent horns and a sceptre, cloaked by what almost looks to be a Slytherin school tie from Harry Potter.
In terms of props at Comic Con the organisers outline some key rules to keep everyone safe on the day – wings are most certainly allowed
There are to be no sharp objects on the floor, so if you’re bringing a giant metal sword, arrow tips, Bioshock syringes or wolverine claws make sure all they’re all soft or blunt
They also ask that participants make sure their prop firearm has a fluorescent tip at the end to indicate it isn’t functional. The same rules apply for projectiles – leave your nerf gun at home
Wow! Most of the costumes involve considerable effort to assemble and are revered at the show
Many of those who attended came alone only to find friends amongst the crowd wearing similar costumes.
