A CrossFit gym has been sprayed with bullets in an early morning drive-by shooting.

An investigation has been launched after shots were fired into the front glass door and a number of windows of the gym on Annerley Road in Brisbane at 2.35am on Wednesday.

Gunshots rang out across the city moments before a car was heard speeding away, police said.

The door to the building has been shattered as a result of the incident.

It is believed to be a targeted attack on the building. Police have been trying to piece together a motive for the attack.

No one was inside the building at the time.

Customers told 9 News the shooting seemed ‘completely random’.

‘Compared to anywhere else I’ve lived I’ve always felt so safe and nothing completely bizarre and random happens,’ one person said. 

‘This is just totally not something I would have ever expected to happen around here.’

Police are appealing for anyone with further information or anyone in the area with dashcam vision to contact police.
