A alleged drug driver was lucky not to kill or injure anyone when he veered on the wrong side of the road in peak-hour.
A 43-year-old man was travelling along Roma Street, Brisbane, in the middle of the Central Business District when he crossed the wrong side of the road at 4pm.
A police spokesperson said it is ‘unbelievable’ he didn’t hit any car or injure anyone ‘given the time of the day’.
A driver was charged with driving under the influence of drugs after veering onto the wrong side of the road
The man, from the River Hills area of Brisbane, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs.
Police quickly intercepted the driver because the incident happened outside police headquarters.
Drink driving was ruled out of the incident, with a police spokesperson confirming he produced a ‘zero reading’ in a breath test.
Queensland police tweeted about the incident on Friday afternoon.

‘Police have intercepted a suspected drink driver outside PHQ on Roma Street. A car was driven the wrong way up the street. Two lanes outbound are blocked.’
The road was later reopened and the car was moved off the road, according to police.
It is understood the driver was unaware he was driving on the wrong side of the road.
