A British tourist has tragically died in bed next to his girlfriend after suffering a heart attack at their hotel in Menorca.
The 37-year-old began to have difficulty breathing in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, before suffering from ‘irreversible cardiac arrest’, local press said.
His girlfriend noticed his respiratory difficulties and phoned the emergency services.
Paramedics rushed to the hotel in Arenal d’en Castell, but their attempts to resuscitate the man sadly failed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A forensic doctor from the Institute of Legal Medicine later removed the body from the hotel on the Balearic Island.

An autopsy is expected to be carried out on Thursday to officially determine the British man’s cause of death.
Arenal d’en Castell is a small town on the north-east of the Spanish island of Menorca, a popular holiday destination for many Brits.
