Paedophile Vanessa George could be freed in May after a parole hearing date was fixed

Britain’s worst woman paedophile Vanessa George could be freed in May after a date was set for her parole hearing.

The child abuser, from Plymouth, Devon, was jailed for a minimum of seven years in 2009 after taking 64 pictures of herself harming babies and toddlers at the Little Teds nursery.

She is currently housed at HMP Send near Guildford, Surrey, where she will make a bid for release in the spring.

George will have an oral hearing before a parole panel, before they determine whether she can be released.

However, her ex-husband Andrew has told friends he fears that his former wife will ‘manipulate’ the panel which decides her fate.

Her two daughters have publicly disowned her.

A spokesman for the Parole Board insisted that the panel would consider a range of evidence before making its decision.

The spokesman insisted the process would be done ‘with great care and with public safety the number one priority’.

Angela Allen who was sent the images, was jailed for at least five years. Colin Blanchard, who forwarded the pictures to Allen after George sent them to him, was given a minimum term of nine years in 2011

It emerged last year that George has changed her name in prison, reverting to her maiden name of Vanessa Sylvia Marks, it was revealed today.

The mother of two described herself to her internet lover Colin Blanchard as a ‘paedo whore mum’.

She worked at Little Teds nursery in Efford, Plymouth, until her arrest on June 9, 2009 on suspicion of sexually assaulting a number of pre-school children in her care.

In all she admitted to a total of seven sexual assaults of young children and six counts of distributing and making indecent pictures of children.

She is thought to have sent pictures to her internet lover.

During her sentencing Judge Mr Justice Royce said the case had caused ‘widespread revulsion and incredulity’ and had ‘rocked the city of Plymouth’.
