- Delicious Orie could make a move to join the WWE
- The 27 year-old was contacted by the organisation following his performance at the Olympics
- But Orie still has designs on a professional boxing career
A British boxing star could be set to make his second career in the ring following his Olympics performance.
The Paris 2024 Olympian is wanted by a host of top promoters in the boxing world as he looks to turn professional.
But Delicious Orie’s career could go in a different direction after he was contacted by officials within the WWE.
The 27-year old was one of Great Britain’s boxing gold medal hopes but suffered a shock defeat to Armenia’s Davit Chaloyan, leaving the Games without a medal to his name.
That hasn’t stopped the interest in the Wolverhampton based fighter though as he has been contacted by a number of organisation.

Despite the interest from the WWE, Orie still has plans for a professional boxing career
According to the Daily Mirror, Orie was enjoying some down time before he received a message from WWE.
‘It was certainly something to lift my mood after the Olympics,’ he said.
‘I thought at first that it could be a fake account, but then I looked into it with my manager Sean O’Toole and we realised it was the real thing.’
Orie, who moved to the UK from Russia as a child has already flown out to Orlando to visit NXT’s performance center to do some introductory work with the wrestling organisation.
It is part of the group’s recent recruitment push as they seek more global stars for their programming.
Speaking about his interest in wrestling, Orie said: ‘Like any kid, I got into wrestling when I was younger
‘Started watching it when I moved to the UK. I used to watch the likes of John Cena, the Undertaker while there was the odd appearance from the older legends like Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels.
‘Me and my friends would do the moves, the usual putting the sofa cushions down for a bit of protection.
During his time at NXT, Orie was able to meet two of the legends he would have been watching on TV when he was younger.
Shawn Michaels is a coach at the performance center, ‘It’s crazy to meet him. I also got to meet Booker T who is another wrestling legend as he works as a commentator for NXT.’

The 2024 Olympian also spoke about meeting WWE hall of famer Booker T
While Orie remains interested in a boxing career, the 27 year-old could be juggling the early stages of his boxing career with his WWE career, making him a professional in two rings at once.
‘It’s something we could think about,’ he said. ‘I want to be an inspiration for people.
‘I know wrestling would increase my profile so much and I want to be a global star, that’s the aim to be known all over the world.
‘Boxing is still something I believe I can be a huge success in.’
