British No 1 Emma Raducanu pulls out of WTA event in Monterrey next week to recover from ‘small leg injury’ which forced her to retire in Guadalajara
Emma Raducanu’s injury to her left leg has seen her withdraw from next week’s event in Monterrey, Mexico.
The British No 1 retired from her first round match in Guadalajara on Tuesday and is now unsure if she will play next month’s BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells.
‘I was loving Mexico, however due to the small left leg injury sustained during my last match we decided it was best to postpone my return to recover as well as possible,’ she said.

At the Dubai Duty Free Championships, Russia’s world No 7 Andrey Rublev shut out distractions to beat Hubert Hurkacz of Poland.
After a 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 semi-final win, he used the traditional practice of scrawling on the courtside TV lens to write: ‘No war please.’
Rublev now faces Novak Djokovic’s conqueror Jiri Vesely, who beat Canada’s Denis Shapovalov 6-7, 7-6, 7-6.
