Tom Grennan has revealed his awkward first date with his now-wife Daniella.
The 28-year-old English singer, who is currently touring Australia, spoke about about the couple’s relationship during an interview on Wednesday’s Kyle & Jackie O Show.
Grennan told hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson the couple first met in an elevator, before sharing a cigarette in a smoking area of the building they were in.
He went on to say that he and Daniella ‘bonded over a ciggie’ and he was awkwardly rejected when he went to kiss her.
‘I leant in for a kiss and she was like “what the hell are you doing?”‘ the Little Bit of Love hitmaker recalled.

However the singer recovered with a smooth move by saying ‘well if you’re not going to kiss me at least put your number in my phone’ and the rest was history.
Later in the segment, Tom revealed his heartfelt gesture for his bride during the couple’s wedding last month.
After giving his speech at the reception, the singer performed a song he composed especially for the occasion because he believed his dyslexia prevented his speech from adequately expressing his feelings.
‘I did a speech, and then I said “Daniella I can’t speak as well as I want to, but here goes” and I wrote her a song,’ he said.
The singer-songwriter is set to play the Metro Theatre in Sydney on Wednesday night, followed by 170 Russell in Melbourne on Thursday.
In an exclusive chat with Daily Mail Australia last month, Grennan said that he was keen to ‘see what’s happening’ Down Under.

‘I’ve not been over there for a while. So just see what’s happening,’ he remarked.
‘I want to go visit a few beaches again. And also do gigs, do shows. I’ve got two big shows coming up. I know the Australian crowd is really on my side, so yeah, it’s gonna be fun.’
Fans attending his shows can anticipate ‘big production, big shows’ similar to those he’s known for in England, but with a personal touch that showcases his genuine connection with his audience.
‘The shows are fun, they’re energetic and the songs, the songs are good, it’s sustainable. You’re going to be coming into the show and having a sing song, and my shows are a community of people, everybody’s safe and everybody’s just down to have a good time.’
