British tourist, 26, claims ‘bell boy knocked on her Cape Verde hotel room door then groped and tried to kiss her during £2,000 TUI trip for her birthday

A British tourist claims she was sexually assaulted by a bell boy at a TUI hotel on a birthday getaway to Cape Verde.
Megan Holmes, 26, was staying at the five-star Hotel Riu Touareg in Boa Vista when she claims a bell boy knocked at her door.
She had just come back from the pool and was alone in her room because her mother had fallen ill with pneumonia and was being treated at a nearby hospital.
The support worker, from the Scottish Borders, then claims the member of staff pushed his way into the room before kissing her and groping her bottom during the £2,000 holiday in September last year.

She told The Sun: ‘I had just come back from a swim in the pool and was wrapped in a big towel in my room and was waiting for dinner.’
The 26-year-old claims the bell boy stopped by her room with the pretense of delivering a message about an activity she had booked.
She says he offered her a card put tried to ‘play games with her’ by pulling it away before she could grab it.
He allegedly asked if she had drunk any of the birthday champagne he delivered to her earlier.
When she said no, he is said to have poured her a glass and asked her to drink with him.

She obliged, in a bid to hurry him along, but when she told him to leave, she claims he kissed her on the neck and touched her bottom.
Miss Holmes told the newspaper: ‘He squeezed my bum and was saying how nice it was and that I should show it off.’
She reported the incident to staff and police, but claims to have heard nothing back.
However as the whole conversation with the authorities had to be translated into Creole, the local language, she does not know how well her statement was conveyed.
She added: ‘I’ve been trying to forget about it but it was awful. Now I’m worried he’s still working there, and it could happen again to somebody else’.
A TUI spokesman told MailOnline: ‘We were very concerned to hear of Ms Holmes’ experience in Cape Verde.
‘We contacted her as soon as we became aware, and continue to support her while we investigate this further with the hotel.’
